Privacy Policy

First Bite is a brand of Shawerminos LLC, a Virginia limited liability company (“First Bite”, “we”). This policy explains what information we collect when you order from this website, how we use it and who we share it with. First Bite is a delivery-only kitchen in Northern Virginia.
What we collect
- Order details: the items you order, your delivery address, drop-off notes, name, phone number and email address (for your receipt).
- Payment details: card details (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) are entered directly into our payment processor’s secure form (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data: like any website, our hosting provider may log your IP address, browser type and pages visited to keep the site secure and working.
Your order basket is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it is still there if you reload the page. After you order, your browser also remembers that order’s tracking link for 12 hours, so you can check on it when you come back. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To prepare, charge for and deliver your order.
- To contact you about your order, for example if the driver can’t find your address.
- To email you about your order: a confirmation, when it’s on the way, and if it’s canceled. These are order emails only, not marketing. We don’t send text messages (SMS).
- To handle refunds, complaints and our own accounting and tax records.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send marketing unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
- Stripe (payments), to take payment and handle refunds.
- Resend (email delivery), to send your order confirmation (your receipt) and order updates.
- Our drivers, who receive your name, phone number, address and drop-off notes so they can deliver.
- Our website host and database provider, which run this site and store order records.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
These companies handle your information under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records (your name, phone number, email address, delivery address, the items you ordered and the totals) for 2 years for accounting and tax purposes, then delete them. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by us.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Virginia residents may have additional rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act where it applies. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 45 days.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
